Since August 2021, I have acted as the Vice President of Policy Development for the UBC Environmental Policy Association. In this position, I conduct research and advise the team on Environmental Policy developments.
In early October, we hosted an event called 'Let's Talk Election' in which we asked Professor Kathryn Harrison a series of questions related to the environmental policy outcomes of the 2021 Federal Election. To prepare for this event, I conducted research on the various party platforms' environmental policy goals as well as the previous Liberal government's policy decisions.
Based on this research, I drafted a series of questions which were edited and approved by the Presidents of the UBC EPA. Once Professor Harrison had agreed to the question, we went ahead with the event. During the event itself, I asked Professor Harrison the questions I had written, and prompted further discussion with follow-up questions.
I learned how to write questions for public forum discussion.
