While working at Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) in the fall of 2021, I coordinated four training sessions on Facilitation for 80 students on behalf of my unit
I proposed a plan to create a 3-Year Action Plan on Indigenous Relations with CWS Pacific and surveyed the staff of the entire region to determine the priorities for that plan.
I was able to be involved in all important elements of the hiring process from the coarse review of CVs to the selection of the successful candidate.
I researched and wrote a 35-page document that summarized the relationship between a First Nations government and the Canadian Wildlife Service (Pacific Region).
Throughout my coop term, I have been responsible for a variety of elements during meetings. This has given me important public speaking, writing, and organization skills.
This was an exercise in research and writing within the federal government, specifically for Environment and Climate Change Canada. I learned about the First Nations of BC and their relationships with ECCC.
In order to create the content we were hoping for, we needed the engagement of politicians. I worked closely with politicians from 3 of the 4 majors parties to achieve this goal.
