In order to create the content we were hoping for, we needed the engagement of politicians. I worked closely with politicians from 3 of the 4 majors parties to achieve this goal.
While working on the Envirovote 2019 team, I had the chance to hone my interviewing skills by writing interview questions, as well as, carrying out and transcribing interviews.
In POLI 308, I helped run the Instagram and Facebook pages for @envirovote2019. We produced short videos about climate and the election and worked to make them visible online.
Working in POLI 308 has shown me how important a good team is to achieving our goals in a project. We have created a clear project design in under two weeks and are well on our way to pulling it off.
I spent a summer as a camp counsellor and canoe/kayak instructor at a camp for differently-abled youth. It's probably one of the most physically and emotionally exhausting experiences of my life, but also one of the most enriching.
My first official partisan work came as the Youth Advisor and Social Media Manager of Ramsey Hart, candidate for the NDP in the provincial Ontario elections. I learned lots about the electoral process and the importance of media.
After taking over an ailing association for the advancement of feminist ideals, I worked to revitalise it and promote it on campus. I succeeded to gain traction amongst the student body and find new members to carry on the club ideas.
